Lotto winners usually can’t wait to go on a crazy spending spree after collecting a major prize, but not one man from Australia. He’s in no rush to spend his $1.000.000 fortune, and intends to grow it in the years to come.
The fortunate Wyee resident purchased his golden ticket from Foodworks at Wyee Shopping Centre. Store owner David Southwood said it’s great to hear one of their regulars scored this impressive victory, and wished the winner all the best.
Lottery officials couldn’t wait for him to come forward and find out what it feels like to be a millionaire first-hand. By the time he got in touch with them, the anonymous man already got used to the fact he’s now $1.000.000 richer.
“If I don’t seem that excited now it’s because it’s been a fair while from Monday to now and the news has sunk in. It feels great to be a millionaire. It is excellent!” said the lucky winner after contacting lottery officials.
When it comes to plans for the future, this Wyee resident said there’s already a reasonably sedate plan in place. He intends to put the $1.000.000 prize to some good use, after taking his loved ones on an amazing family vacation.
“Without a doubt we’ll be taking the kids and grandkids on a family holiday to England. We will definitely have the holiday, but there is no urgency to rush out and spend the rest in five minutes. In fact, it will be the opposite – we plan to grow it,” concluded the fortunate man.
