Imagine getting a call from a random number, only to learn you’re about to receive $1.000.000. That’s exactly what happened to one lotto player from Australia, who started screaming with joy after lottery officials called to break the lucky news.
Women from Innisfail, who decided to stay anonymous after collecting her prize, couldn’t believe her luck after picking up the phone. At first, she thought it’s just a prank call, but it didn’t take her long to start making plans for the future.
Paying off her mortgage is currently on the top of her agenda, but once that’s done, she’ll use the rest of her prize money to treat each member of her family to something nice.
“I’ve always dreamt of this day but you never think it will actually happen! I don’t know what I will do with the prize. I’ve just been discussing with my husband about getting a new car. I can’t wait to spoil the kids! My husband won’t believe me!” said the winner while talking to the lottery officials.
Winning ticket was purchased at the Larsen’s News & Casket Agency, located on 60 Rankin Street in Innisfail. Store manager Barbara Kremastos was head over heels after learning they helped someone become $1.000.000 richer, especially because it’s been years since a millionaire was created at their store.
“We’re all so excited for the winner and this is such a wonderful boost for the region! It’s been a few years since we last sold a division one winning entry so we’re thrilled. We wish our winner all the best!” said Kremastos.
