Did you ever have a dream about becoming a lottery winner and decided to buy a ticket after waking up in hope it will come true? That never happened to Christy Redding, but she did scoop a major prize thanks to her boyfriend who had a dream about her winning the lottery. He urged her to buy a ticket, and it led her to an amazing $500.000 prize.
Ms. Redding scooped this amazing Maximillions cash reward in the Lotto Max draw on February 23rd. She rarely plays this game, but after her boyfriend had a dream about her winning a major prize he kept convincing her to try it out. Redding eventually decided to do it so she would shut him up, but that wasn’t the only reward she reaped after buying the ticket at the Ann’s Convenience & Video store on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
“When I handed it [the ticket] to the retailer, the lottery machine froze. I thought I was in trouble. I thought, ‘What did I do?’ My stomach dropped when I realized I won $500.000 – I haven’t slept since!” said the fortunate lady.
Redding is the legal guardian of her two-year-old granddaughter Harlow, who was born with severe cerebral palsy. Winning $500.000 means she’ll be able to provide her with the best care. The first thing she intends to buy is a new wheelchair before starting to look for an open-concept home where Harlow can move more freely. She’s also looking forward to enjoying small things, like getting her hair done and going shopping.
“I can actually look at the flyers and not think, ‘I wish I had the money.’ I can actually look at the flyers now and go get some sales,” concluded Redding.
