The Ehrenbergs scooped their impressive jackpot by matching the winning numbers 3, 7, 30, 31, 35 and 38 in the Louisiana Lotto draw on June 6th. They discovered the long-lost ticket while trying to get their house in a better shape just in time for the Thanksgiving dinner.
“We have family coming into town for Thanksgiving, so I was cleaning up the house and found a few lottery tickets on my nightstand that we hadn’t checked. We kept checking the numbers again and again! Plus, I called the winning numbers hotline over and over,” recalled Ms. Ehrenberg after collecting the incredible $1.800.000 windfall with her husband.
Lotto prizes in Louisiana must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing in which the prize was won. Shortly after checking their numbers, the Ehrenbergs realized their fortune would’ve been lost forever if it wasn’t for the holiday cleaning. Their ticket was set to expire only two weeks later, but that doesn’t mean they’ll go on a crazy spending spree after collecting the money.
“We don’t have any plans to buy anything crazy or go on any big trips. The most fun is going to be depositing that check!” said the lucky couple.
